| About Aurora Entertainment... |
When Aurora, the duo, settled in Boise, ID, the area needed a
reliable entertainment source. Those preceding came & went -
some with fly-by-night reputations. Aurora Entertainment was
built on honesty & trust, with input & endorsement from the
Musicians' Union in the area despite the "right to work"
(non-union) atmosphere in the state. Aurora Entertainment
became licensed by the American Federation of Musicians. Paula
later served on the Federation Board.
Aurora Entertainment focused on the "Casual" bookings (as they
were called at the time) rather than nightclubs & bars. They
provided Entertainment (musicians & bands and some novelty
entertainers) for companies like Hewlett Packard, Boise Cascade,
Ore Ida, Mountain Home Air Force Base, and Idaho First
National Bank. Bands and clients both appreciated Aurora
Entertainment's business practices, being willing & comfortable
with a 10-15% booking commission per job. All contract details
stayed up front and both parties could rely on Aurora
Entertainment to cover the date or emergencies with integrity.
Aurora Entertainment regularly booked musicians and bands for
weddings, reunions, and other private events as well, working
closely with banquet facilities and caterers for the highest event
success. In addition, regular entertainment booking was provided
to Eagles & Elks Lodges, country clubs, and even multiple wards
of the LDS church (among other religious facilities).
Paula designed all the marketing materials for the business while
Mike offered supporting video services, and his fine
musicianship. Paula also served as a mentor to musicians new to
the business and served as a business partner/board member on
"The Wedding Party" (annual wedding trade show) committee.
Aurora Entertainment closed due to unexpected personal events
despite its success during the years of operations.
